Review: Fairy Beauty Clenz and Life Food

Today I'm going to review 2 beauty supplement products courtesy of HiShop and Fairy Beauty.
I have always wanted to try beauty supplement products but are afraid of buying products that are dangerous and can harm your health. So this is a perfect chance for me as Fairy Beauty products are registered with the Ministry of Health and they comply to the standard GMP guideline!

First up, Fairy Beauty Clenz!
 Fairy Beauty Clenz 10 x 12ml
Currently retailing at HiShop for RM44 (50% off)!

10 small bottles in a box. There are separate straws for each bottle, safe and clean!

Directions : 1 bottle a day before bedtime. Consume immediately after open

According to the guide on the box, use the opener to poke a hole on the top of the bottle, then put the straw in and drink!

Should have push the straw further inside, but I was too tired trying to poke a hole so yea.

Verdict: The drink taste like plum juice, which was okay to my liking. But, the day after consuming one bottle I had severe diarrhea. I had to stay at home as I frequently visited the toilet. Super tired and my stomach ache so bad the whole day was spent laying on the couch like a beached whale lol. While the effect is astonishing and I know detox is supposed to be like this, I stopped after 2 bottles as I need to go on with my daily routine.

I have no doubts on its positive effects though, I just need to find time when I'm free to finish the remaining bottles hee. They should also make the bottle easier to poke though. Sharper openers perhaps?

Basil, Le Bistrot @ GeorgeTown, Penang.

In the midst of studying comes the mood to update a post HAHA typical me

Went to this highly raved cafe with YyiRan le bestie! Yea we always hunt cafes together hee

They have a complimentary bottle of water for you so there's no need to order any drinks!

Selfie before the food comes
 #MyFriendisMoreGorgeousThanYours hahaa

Lovely ambiance to chill out! And friendly waitresses too!

Tarte Au Citron (Lemon Tart)
*price forgotten hehe*

Iz good! Tangy and refreshing.
Y'all should know beforehand that I don't like whipped cream, when ordering frap in Starbucks I always skip the cream but here, the cream is shooo nice coz it served to balance the tangyness of the lemon! Yyi and I love it!

Artistic shot HAHAHA Guess what it is?

Demi Breakfast RM18
Streaky bacon, buttered mushrooms, baked beans, homemade hashbrown, toast and scrambled eggs.

Besides the somewhat hard to chew bread, everything is good! We did not order the full breakfast coz we're going to Jack n Co. later (omg see how late I'm posting this lol) so demi is perfect for us.
The homemade hashbrown is delish. You can taste the slices of potato (hi potato fanatic here)!

The baked beans. The quantity is a lil disappointing as the bucket is so damn huge lol.

Posted this on my ig 12 weeks ago :P

Best of all?
NO tax! So what you see is what you pay. Convenient for those who come with friends (like me) so we don't have to berpaling tadah because of the bill wtf.

My beloved bestie
Haven't met you in awhile but you'll always be in my heart

Basil, Le Bistrot

You Go, Girl!

Hello hello! As promised, I will be posting my new fiction! Funny how I'm more inspired to write in the middle of completing assignments haha I guess stress brings out the best of me! Well honestly I did not bother much about the grammar this time (no more Grammar Nazi yeay!) so if you spot any mistakes do inform me! Haha :D

Please do comment and tell me what you think about my new fiction too! Thanks guys!

You Go, Girl!

Quinn Riley woke up with a start, her face drenched with sweat. Her eyes searched around the room wildly, before she realized that something was vibrating in her hands. It was her phone, and she was gripping it tightly. Slowly, as if fearing the phone would bite her, she peeked at the screen of her phone. Her boyfriend Max Vanderbilt was calling her. Heaving a sigh of relief, she answered the call.

“Hey, Max. Listen, I just…”

“Quinn! I’ve been calling you for the past hour! Where are you?! Everyone is asking about you!” Max exclaimed.

“Huh? Max, I…” Quinn gasped as Max rambled on about how she was embarrassing him by being late. It was his birthday party today at The W and she totally forgot about it!  She promised a disgruntled Max that she would be there soon and hung up.

Hastily she changed into the emerald halter neck dress that she bought a few days before. Grabbing her makeup, she dabbed on some mascara and lipgloss. Then, she crammed everything in her purse and left her apartment.

Just after midnight she finally got back to her apartment and collapsed on her lumpy sofa. She was too tired to get into her bed after acting hostess for the whole night and trying her best to ignore Max’s disapproving parents. She knew that they want nothing but the best for their son, and she tried her best to convince them that she was the perfect partner for Max, but her efforts were in vain. Tonight, the Vanderbilts showed up with the Astors. Rumours were flying around about the possibility of an arranged marriage between Max and Laura Astor, the sole heiress to the Astors’ vast fortune.

Rubbing her throbbing forehead, Quinn headed for her bed. Tiredly, she set her alarm clock to ring at 8am tomorrow. Almost immediately, she fell into a deep slumber.

“Quinn, you’ve gotta believe me! Why are you doing this to me?” Horror etched her beautiful face as she was dragged away, her anguish tearing Quinn’s heart apart.

Abruptly, Quinn was jolted awake by her alarm clock ringing. Her forehead was beaded with sweat. Her heart beating uncontrollably, she muted her alarm clock and headed towards the bathroom.

“It’s not your fault, Quinn. You’re just doing what you can to save her.” She muttered to her pale reflection in the mirror. “Now it’s time to move on.”

[HongKong] A Michelin Dream: Tim Ho Wan Dim Sum Specialist

Yep, you've guessed it. This post is gonna be about food again. Cause who doesn't like food, huh? And Hong Kong is all about delicious and delectable food. Before I went to HK I researched online and came out with a list of cafes and restaurants that I must go to hahaha! This trip is more like a food and shopping trip lolol!

Tim Ho Wan (添好运点心专卖店) is a dim sum restaurant that has one Michelin star, earning it the reputation of 'the cheapest Michelin star restaurant in the world'! How wonderful it is to dine at a Michelin star restaurant without splurging too much hahaha! We went to the branch at the Hong Kong station because the Mongkok branch closed down TT

Actually the address stated it is in IFC Mall, so we went there and wandered around but we couldn't find it. Gave up and asked a policeman (yep, a REAL policeman you see in HK dramas!) for directions. They're really friendly and helpful, do not hesitate to ask them for help if you ever got lost! Turns out its in the mtr station itself lol.

Luckily when we went the queue wasn't that long, we managed to snag seats after a 30 minutes wait. I know that some people hafta queue at least 1 hour to get a place!

Baked Bun with Barbecued Pork 酥皮炬叉烧 HK$19
My advice: eat it while its piping hot! It's crispy on the outer layer, and the juicy BBQ pork inside is totally delicious! First time eating this and I'm pleasantly satisfied! Makes you wanna gobble up all 3 of these hehe

Le sis swollen face in the morning hahaha

Carrot Cake 香煎萝卜糕 HK$14
Was having breakfast, so this dish strikes us as too oily. Not a fan of this.

Steamed Pork Dumpling with Shrimp 鲜虾烧卖王HK$24
We ordered 2 of this as we know this is the bestseller of the store! And boy, it did not disappoint! You may not see from the picture but there was a whole prawn inside each of the siewmai! Yes, a whole, huge prawn! If you had eaten before dimsum in Malaysia, with the siewmai being a mixture of minced pork and prawns, you'll know why am I so excited lol. They are just so generous with their ingredients here y'know. The siewmai is chewy yet juicy and delectable. The best siewmai I've ever had so far!

Steamed Pork Ribs with Black Bean Sauce 豉汁蒸排骨 HK$14
Love love love pork ribs! And this dish is perfectly seasoned, with soft and succulent pork ribs.

Steamed rice roll with shrimp and chives 韭王鲜虾肠 HK$26
Again, whole juicy prawns! Seriously you cannot possibly imagine how gamdong am I eating all these prawns. This is a perfectly simple but deliciously good dish, with juicy prawns drizzled with soy sauce. The soy sauce doesn't come with the dish though, you have to drizzle it yourself to suit your own taste.

Steam Beancurd Skin Roll with Beef and Water Chestnut 美味鲜竹卷 HK$16
Not particularly outstanding. Maybe its because I never had a liking to beancurd lol. Apologies for the blur pic, as my camera obviously don't like it as well wtf.

Steamed Fresh Shrimp Dumpling 晶莹鲜虾饺 HK$24
Another essential dimsum dish, filled with fresh whole prawns. Although simple, it captures the essence of the dish, with the signature translucent thin outer wrapping.

After sampling the dimsum varieties Tim Ho Wan had to offer, I can certainly say that the Michelin Star is well-earned! There are some disappointing dishes such as the carrot cake and beancurd thingy. But that's okay, coz the restaurant's bestseller dishes did not disappoint! And my love for prawns is satisfied haha. Will definitely go back for another round next time! That is, if I ever come back to Hong Kong lolol.

[HongKong] 澳洲牛奶公司 Australian Dairy Company, Jordan

Haven't been blogging in a while, house wifi is quite slow lol! Am back to uni so hopefully won't be swamped by assignments *fingers crossed*

Hong Kong trip was almost 2 months ago and I have not finish blogging about it fml.

Heard about 澳洲牛奶公司 Australian Dairy Company from a friend so decided to give it a try! Went to this 茶餐厅 before we went to Disneyland although it's so out of the way lolol

One thing about chaar chan teng in HK is the attitude of the waiters and waitresses. They tend to be very sarcastic and rude, so please plan ahead what do you want to order and order it quickly.

Here's the menu on the wall.

For breakfast,

Toast with butter
Macaroni with shredded ham
Coffee or tea (cold add HKD 2)
HKD 28

So cheap right!!
We ordered 2 of the sets and for eggs we chose scrambled, coz the scrambled eggs is what they're famous for!

 Macaroni with shredded ham.
Mommy did not like it very much as she said it reminded her of her childhood sick food lol. But for me it is good! Maybe because its my first time tasting this hehe

 Toast and Scrambled Eggs
So fluffy and soft yet so delectable! This is the bomb I tell you. The most yummiest scrambled eggs I've ever had.

Another pic of the heavenly scrambled eggs!

Steamed Egg White and Milk Pudding HKD 23

This is also a must order! I normally dislike milk, but this pudding is so smooth and silky, and the milk-egg white combination is seriously daebak haha! Cold and yummy, perfect for the hot weather. There's a hot version for this pudding too, if you prefer hot dessert.

Simple but yummy, our breakfast was a blast despite the rush and chaos and sharing tables with a pretty girl in the cafe.

The queue is normally long in the peak hours, but don't worry as the staff are very efficient and you'll be seated as soon as there's place available. Be prepared to share your table with strangers. We were in a long queue for about 10-15 minutes before we were seated. And once you've finished eating you'll be ushered to pay haha! Everything is very fast paced, true to the nature of Hong Kong.

Hope you've enjoy this post, I'll try my very best to blog more and be more committed to blogging!

Review: Bidanpo Mediental Botanic Garden Broccoli Mask

Truth was I tagged along with mom to the supermarket to buy broccoli so that I can do a simple photoshoot for this review but that very night mom cooked it for dinner ._.

So I guess you can deduce from the statement above that I'm doing a review about something related to broccoli! Thanks to HiShop

Love love love the pink box! Have a few in my collection now hehe

Here it is!

Yep you got it right! Broccoli mask! Initially I was skeptical, but at the same time curious because truthfully this is the first time I've seen broccoli used in skincare.

Contains Fresh Broccoli and Centella Asiatica extract sedativescare delivered to your skin purely. The natural cellulose tencel sheets are highly demotropic and fixed easily on skin. Helpful for intensive skin care and deliver the effects of enriched essense softly.

No real life broccoli green background also can do haha

There's a simple step-by-step diagram on the back. Read the instructions carefully before you apply the mask!

First up, cleanse your face and apply toner. Then put the mask on.
Remove after 15-20 minutes.
That easy!

The mask smells like aloe vera! Very relaxing, clean kinda smell. I liked the intricate pattern of the mask. It does not fall off easily although I moved around (in my sleep wtf) quite a lot coz its demotropic as mentioned in the description.

I apologize for the messy hair ._.
(that happens after you lie down and relax by closing your eyes for some time wtf)

Not much difference on my face except that the spot on my forehead calmed down from a fiery red to dull red haha. One thing I like is that its kinda gel like so there won't be dripping liquid when you remove it from the package! However, after using it there will be a sticky residue on your face which remains for hours!

Apart from that, the mask was lovely! Gave me an excuse to relax for some time heh.

The Quintessential Fossil Watches

I'm always on the lookout for pretty accessories to compliment my outfit, although most of the time my outfits are always plain coz I don't really know how to accessorize lol. I have tons of bracelets, necklaces and such, but they're not my staple accessories to be exact. Some may forget that watches are also accessories as you wear them daily! (That is, IF you wear a watch afterall HAHA)

My 3-year -old trusty watch has always been my staple accessory. But maybe its time to upgrade? Naturally, I first thought of Fossil watches! Always love their leather bags, sadly not able to afford one, and their watches are unbelievably gorgeous too! You can style your looks with your Fossil watches easily, as they are classic timepieces that goes well with almost every look.

I must say that this rose gold stainless steel Fossil watch perfectly compliments the pastel purple dress. So feminine and gorgeous! This classic timepiece instantly brings out the girly side of you and glams up your entire outfit. Pair it with shiny but understated jewellery so it does not steal away the limelight of the watch. It is also ideal to pair up with office wear as it looks formal, too.

If you're going for a more minimalist look, then the coloured plated stainless steel Fossil watch will be perfect to spice up your casual outfit. The timepiece definitely goes well with jeans, the picture above is proof haha! And the colour is simply lovely! I have numerous tops bottoms and a pair of Converse in this colour. You can also wear a black and white outfit, then paired with this watch so the colour will pop!

Omg so glam! I will never be able to achieve this look lol. Gold will always look fabulous no matter on who. Pair a gold wrist watch with bracelets to achieve the glam look! Stack bracelets of various metals, colours, textures and hues with the timepiece to look chic.

I guess this is the end of my post, had so much fun writing this! Fashion is my passion, no doubt haha! Alrighty signing off for now!

Jack & Co, Penang.

Update: Jack & Co. has closed down in Penang island. They are now based in Icon City, Bukit Mertajam.

Wanna get this post up before I start watching 使徒行者 HAHAHA! Yea I know I damn late start but better late than never right!! Drama marathon woohoo!

Taking a break from my HK posts, here's a post about the newest restaurant in town! If you're a Penangite, surely you've seen people posting about this restaurant in Instagram haha.

Jack & Co, the first shipping container concept restaurant in Penang! We went at approximately 5pm coz it opens from 5pm till late night.

Went with my lovely Yyi-Ran  We sat inside the container as you can see!

Me! The piled up pallets were awfully uncomfortable. by the way. Hurts even tho I perched on them.

Selfie while waiting for the food to come. Thanks to the 20mp camera my pimple so visible!!!

Free water in Carlsberg glass cup that they prolly use to serve beer in the night haha!

Smoked Duck Carbonara RM22

Carbonara is so so, the spaghetti is swimming in the sauce, but the few pieces of smoked duck on top taste heavenly! Worth a try, I guess.

Apple Crumble RM15

Me and Yyi agree that the caramelized apple tasted weird lol. It's our personal opinion la. But the biscuits crumbs, fruits and choc sauce compliments the glob of vanilla ice cream.

Another selfie before eating lolol

Vintage Top
Bottom from Hatyai (RM20 why so cheappp!)
 Fitflop as usual wtf
Bag from H&M

The container where we sat.

Night view!

 The al fresco dining area.

 Pretty wine towers!

And the toilet lolol

Parking is pretty limited. We went there earlier so parking was not a problem for us. But around 7pm the carpark was already full, we had a hard time reversing and getting out from our parking space as some cars double parked. And the space was immediately parked by another incoming car lol. So beware! The concept is quite new, and I believe they are coming out with a new menu, so you can go and have a try! (And take pictures lol)

Jack & Co
348, Jalan Datuk Keramat. (Opp Federal Cinema)

My beloved bff Yyi! ♥ you muchie muchie!
Thanks for always coming with me to explore new cafes and restaurants in Penang ahaha

Till then xx
